"I am expressing transformations of the human soul as it awakens through layers of consciousness. I am exploring the nuances of our Higher Being and our human relationship to all life and the One. I seek to express our connection to each other through the multidimensions of the psychic realm .I am leaving behind the old paradigm of separateness created by our society
as I explore expressions of the New Paradigm were we are all One."
Ginny Walden continually seeks the balance of human duality. She explores human separateness and its resolution in the inner knowing that we are One with all life. She creates contemporary figures in stone, wood, bronze, clay and mixed media in series. Her forms vary from classical to expressionistic and express philosophical questions about the various perceptions of different realities. She emphasizes energy, light and space, inside and outside, and connection to the One in her sculpture. Her drawings and pastels focus on landscape/seascapes, the dream world and portraits of people.
When she was 15 at the George School, Walden won a scholarship to the Moore College of Art in Philadelphia,PA and later earned her BA degree at Hiram College. At 21 she moved to Santa Fe, NM and pursued her career for 30 years there as an artist. Regionally known in New Mexico and the Southwest she has shown in numerous galleries, universities and museums as well as at her own gallery. Her work also toured on the ship "Point Counterpoint 2" down the Missisippi River and in Europe and Russia. A life size commission in Portuguese marble called "Do You Believe in Angels" now resides at The Museum of the Southwest in Midland, Texas.
In 1999, after a bout with advanced breast cancer, Walden changed her life completely and moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where she now works in her art studio in Waimanalo. She also became a Senior Teacher of CHI-LEL Medical Qigong ( one of 5 in the world) and has taught the art of self-healing worldwide. Walden is also an accomplished classical and flamenco guitarist and performs locally with her troupe FLAMENCO HAWAII in Honolulu and is presently recording CD's of her repertoire and healing music. Also, her upcoming book CANCER GONE! is a detailed memoir of her risky treatment and what choices she made to heal breast cancer. A short story of her spontaneous healing "Olympic Heart" is now published in Chicken Soup For the Soul's LIFE LESSONS FOR LOVING THE WAY YOU LIVE co-authored by Jennifer Hawthorne.
Presently Walden is showing sculpture, paintings and prints at her home Studio Gallery in Waimanalo and continues exhibiting her art in numerous shows annually in Honolulu including the prestigious first Hawaii-Japan International Exhibit. She has also won several awards for her sculpture, pastels and drawings.
